Christians who say atheists "deny" God to avoid punishment, don't you believe in God for the same reason?

There are many reasons.But that is certainly a legitimate reason, yes.People like to emphasize the negative aspect of the consequence of rejecting His free gift but somehow they won't talk too much about all the wonderful things ahead and sometimes even in this life of following and loving Him.God is God and we are not.Hope this helps.
