How insane do you have to be to think Obama would PURPOSELY drive up gas prices?

If he really did have such a conspiracy that he wanted to implement, don't you think he'd wait for his second term? Not only are high gas prices tied to a global market, they are also poison for popularity and would make getting reelected ten times more difficult than it has to be.
