Why are so many of my conservative friends in so much denail about obama being re-elected?

they seem to be so positively sure that obama will not get reelected. personally, i seem to be on the opposite end. from what i can tell with history, statistics, etc., i would have to say that he will be reelected but its possible he wont. but to my conservative friends, they thing there is absolutely no possibility that obama will be reelected. why so much of a different view? to me, it seems to be flat out denial caused by anger blinding them from admitting obvious things that will always be possible.
